OUR DOCTORS

Dr. Thomas Jones is the Hospital Administrator at both Ashburn Veterinary Hospital and our sister hospital, Feline Medical Care Center.  He is a 1978 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and has spent his years since in both small animal general and emergency practice.  After leaving his emergency practice in Richmond, he moved back to the Northern Virginia area and started the Ashburn Veterinary Hospital in 1994.

Throughout his career Dr. Jones has been active in local, state and national veterinary associations and a participant in the Virginia Tech Veterinary Student Mentoring Program, as well as a member of The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and The American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP).  To remain current on  research and changes in the field of veterinary medicine, he regularly pursues continuing education in a variety of disciplines.

Dr. Jason Overman graduated from North Carolina State University and has moved to Ashburn from Raleigh, NC. Dr. Overman grew up on a family farm where he developed a passion for veterinary medicine. While in school Dr. Overman volunteered his time and services at local animal shelters as well as mobile spay and neuter clinics. He has impressed those he has worked with and studied under with his dedication, compassion, intelligence and desire to help his patients. Dr. Overman is dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care and client education. He comes highly recommended and we truly enjoy having him on our team.

Dr. Lori Nishizawa is the newest member of our veterinary team. She grew up in Hawaii where she worked at the Honolulu Zoo prior to attending veterinary school. She attended Claremont McKenna College in California for her undergraduate studies and the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine where she received her veterinary degree. She is energetic, enthusiastic and loves animals.  We are very pleased to have her join our hospital family.
